Damaged Shingles
If your shingles appear to be losing their granules or look worn out, it’s time to have your roof checked. Granules protect the asphalt coating of your shingles from the Sun’s UV Rays, and help keep the shingles fire resistant. Shingles on the peak or ridge of your home should be inspected, as they tend to wear out sooner than the rest of the roof. Missing and damaged shingles should be replaced as soon as possible to prevent leaks.
